You’ve just managed to get Hijikata (that irritating chain-smoker) off your back when you see a pink haired girl with her loyal otaku sidekick at the booth across the street. The vendor looks vaguely familiar and your mood starts to brighten when she starts to pelt bullets at him - the festival has just started, after all.
You think that she might be a worthy rival, because you’ve never seen another person who shares the same sort of sadistic, violent thrills as you do.
You demand for his watch.
The glasses boy, Shinpachi is gawking at the both of you. You think you might want to recruit Hijikata as your sidekick, too, when he’s cleaning up what’s left of the stall after the both of you are done.
It’s a friendly competition between the two of you if anything else (even if it might be violent) - the both of you are just out to torment the rest of the world.
You think that the two of you might be partners-in-crime on a good day.

Then the explosions come and people are running away - the festival has been ruined - the both of you are furious and more-than-ready for a little action.
You charge at the offenders.
It’s after demolishing a dozen robots that you calm down a little, and notice a robot flying to the other side of the town.
Another robot is sent flying and you wonder if she’s really a girl, that China, because she punches as hard as any guy - or maybe even harder.
You decide that fighting her might prove to be a challenge.
Things just got a lot more interesting.
