Dear Friends
Today I went to a Darfur Rally at Queens Park. The rally was entitled "Scream for Darfur" and there were many human rights activits, sudanese refugees, and politicians who spoke and empowered. The rally was inspiring and told us all that we have been silent for TOO LONG and we need to act now. When Bill Clinton was once asked why he didnt do anything about Rwanda, he simply answered "The phones never rang"! Well we have the opportunity to make the phones ring RIGHT NOW!!!

please call Prime Minister Harper at 1-613-992-4211 and leave him a msg or email him at pm@pm.gc.ca and say the following:

"Hello, my name is ______ and I live in _____. I'm calling to ask your goverment to take a leadership role in ending the crisis in Darfur, Sudan. The situation in Darfur is deteriorating every day: the United Nations recently cut the meagre food rations for displaced persons in half, and thousands more were displaced this month due to continuing violence. If powerfule countries like ours continue to do liittle, the catastrophe will get even worse. therefore, I strongly urge you to support the rapid deployment of a well-equipped United Nations force - of at least 15, 000 to 20, 000 troops - empowered by Chapter 7 mandate that will allow them to proactively and effectively protect civilians. This is the only way we can stop the murder, the rape, and the massive suffering."

IT IS THAT SIMPLE!! there is a debate in parliament tomorrow. call before then!! WE HAVE BEEN SILENT LONG ENOUGH! SCREAM FOR DARFUR!
