My laptop go boom.
I believe I'll be able to salvage it... Right now, I need to get a new keyboard to see if the laptop proper will work... I get a screen ordering me to reset the internal date and time and I can't because not all of the keys work. At best, it was a minor inconvenience requiring only a new keyboard (which, truth be told, I needed anyway). At worse, I lost all of my files and will have to start from scratch... That would include all of my modding files (including some now-rare programs that are difficult to track down), all of my essays, my porn collection, and all of the customization awnd tweaking I've done in the last two years to make my computer run more efficiently. At the more worse, I've even lost the operating system and will need a new computer (again, truth be told, which I could use). At the absolute worst, starting it up will cause a power surge that will disrupt the main power grid at Ramapo, starting a fire. The fire spreads to the G-wing, where the science stuff is, including a top-secret biological weapons facility, releasing a superweapon which wipes us all out, or worse, causes all of our clothing to atomically collapse into poly-cotton blends.
I'll keep you posted on what happens. Hopefully I'll be back in business in a few days.
