(no subject)
Quick drive-by update while I actually have some time to mess around on LJ...
1. I saw Appaloosa and loved it muchly. I may have to see it a second time, partially because I went to the bathroom during a crucial turning point and was frustrated that I missed a lot.
2. Layla, Shep, Kitty, and I are slowly but surely continuing with our film festivals and finally watched the last of Layla's movies at home last weekend. Which means you'll soon be spammed with her program. :)
Layla pointed out to me that we don't know where the four of us will all be next year and this could easily be the last year we do this tradition. I don't know about that. I hope I'm not being overly optimistic in thinking that wherever Kitty goes to grad school, we'll all still be here during the summer, and this is just supposed to be a summer thing though we slacked off about it this year. That made me sad to think about, though.
3. YESSSS.
One of my favorite movies finally with a loaded 2-disc treatment. I've been excited about this edition coming out for a long time but missed the memo that it had recently, and then I happened to notice it when I was at Barnes & Noble (looking for Chinatown, coincidentally) and got ridiculously giddy. I'm especially excited about the audio commentary that includes James Ellroy.

5. I did a movie quotes meme in my fandom journal if anyone wants to go take a crack at the ones that haven't been guessed yet.
