Malachi 3:3: "And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness

They were someone elses. No, we are not already pure, or else God would not have to purify us. Thank you! They are good thoughts, they blessed me, I thought I'd share. ;)
Yes, we ARE once we accept Christ. Right when we do that we 1) get a new heart (of flesh), 2) have the Law written on our heart and mind, 3) get a new spirit, and 4) get His spirit... not to mention ALL of our sins washed away. We, who are in Christ, are new creations-- the old is gone, the new is here... it is us. We're pure and blameless in His sight because of what Jesus did on the cross and afterward (resurrection), and our acceptance of it all. Take care. peace
There is a process of sanctification we must go through to become more like Him every day. The minute you accept Him, your sins are washed clean, but your mind is not renewed yet, and you still have a lot of the same issues going on in your life that must be surrendered to Him and sometimes that alone is a process in itself.
That is why Psalms says the path of the just is as the shining sun, growing ever brighter and brighter unto the perfect day. Because we do not become perfect the second we accept Jesus - it is a sanctification process we go through while walking with Him. But thank you for sharing!
Wait wait wait, so are you talking about sanctification or the renewing of the mind??? They are 2 very different things. We must renew our minds daily, but that is as simple as reminding ourselves of what we have and what we are in Christ. It's not "becoming like Jesus" or getting re-sanctified or somethin like that. It's just a simple process of going over the Truth in our minds.
Please tell me what the path of "becoming perfect" entails. I'd like the know where you've gotten the idea that we must DO things to be perfect, or to be just like Jesus. Just wonderin where you're comin from on this...
Thank YOU for sharing as well. Keep enlightening me por favor. :)
Sanctification is a process that is led by the Holy Spirit and can be resisted, if one is not willing. One has to be pliable and willing in Gods gentle hands or else one will not end up walking in His 100fold plan for them. Does one want to go ALL the way with God, or just pray a prayer and do what you want to do all week except Sundays? We each have a choice.
And either person is not more valuable to God, but there are certain rewards you get here on earth for being pliable in His hands (i.e. obedience). It is always possible to resist the Holy Spirit and not walk in the fullness of His plan.
A person resisting the Holy Spirit and not giving God their all still has impurities because all of them is not yielded to God, however they will still go to heaven.
If the only reply you can muster is a condescending laugh rather than Scripture to show me why you find my answer humorous, then that is answer enough for me! God bless.
