I don't understand the reason why anyone would put a piece of paper with a prediction for the future... in a cookie. Or why I was handed one. ....strange.

Okay, well, here's the thing:

Trashy romance novels involve two things: Smut, or rather, sex, and romance. Like, you know. Kissing, hugging, all that good stuff.

It confuses people 'cause others find it a girish hobby to take up, y'know? And since I'm a guy, well... it seems odd to some people.
