Life, Liberty, and Property

There's a barrier that you don't cross with people. They grunt and call it "personal space." That's what the talking heads like to package it as. Sounds nice. Like you own something. Just another excuse to be paranoid and overprotective. Better buy some more deadbolt locks and an ADT home alarm system. If somebody violates your "personal space" you're pretty much fucked.

See that guy in the elevator? He's gonna try to get close to you. Corrupt you with his filth aura. You'd better grab onto your purse. Lock and load the pepper spray. He might actually try to start a conversation. What will you say back? Should you encourage him? Just treat him like he doesn't exist. That'll solve all of your problems.

Always pining for the feel of her skin on yours. That special one that you let past your armor. Would she be so special if the rest of the world would embrace and accept? Paranoia is the price you pay to be violated in private. Public displays are vulgar and unsettling. Unacceptable. Hold hands at home, you sexual deviants. Us shut-ins are trying to be less miserable nowadays.
