(no subject)
So my court date was yesterday. Wednesday I still hadn't heard from either of my lawyers. So I called the secretary and asked if I could call the court and ask for a continuance because I didn't even know what I was PLEADING yet. She said it wouldn't be necessary. My lawyer would go to court tomorrow and ask for once. whew. Almost had a heart attack.
I'm now sitting in my filthy room refusing to pack. Packing is for suckers. I am in my shirt from yesterday and pajama pants sitting on my floor, laptop on a cardboard box filled with books blasting the pixies and the offspring. Gotta cook tonight. But it's all ok because I haven't been convicted yet and won't be till after my parents have come and gone (they help me move Aug 5).
Anne came into town Wednesday. We went to an outdoor concert that night with Thomas and Ashley. It was pretty fun but I crashed out early. They went on to go hiking at Devil's Icebox. I passed - too tired and no more nature for me. I've had my share of poison ivy. Yesterday we slept late. I worked in the kitchen but cut myself by 7:30. Anne, Ashley and I went to dinner at Flatbranch then to McNalley's to drink and play pool. There's only one table. So when this older guy showed up and sat near us, I felt bad and offered for him to play with us. So Ashley, he and I played cut throat. All of a sudden his friends show up and there's like five lewd middle-aged me making suggestive comments to us. But we finished up and they left. During this time, though, Jason and Thomas (who met us there) had been talking. Awk-ward. Jason and I played a former student of his and his partner.
In other news, Will (president of the Brights at Mizzou) was offered free tickets to this concert if we publicly associate ourselves with the College Democrats at said event. He thinks it's a good idea, or at least not a bad one. I think it's bad to have a political affiliation. Anne agreed. After all, Will and I are libertarians. Would associating the Brights with Democrats be a turn off for possible libertarian candidates? Let alone conservatives, moderates or Republicans, like they'd join anyway...
So, Will. I'm not so much dating him as fucking him. He's not so much a boyfriend as he is a partner in crimes. We've both had shitty summers and lean on each other. We bicker like an old couple without the baggage or strings.
Well, I'm going to continue not packing. I might start Atlas Shrugged on tape.
