yo yo yo
new blog post. i'm trying to sew every day, either lolita stuff or the yo-yos. although carrying the yo-yos around so i could theoretically sew them while on the train has not really worked. and i almost finished a whole lolita dress before realizing i can't wear it due to the ever-present hosiery issue. but i do feel like i am getting into more productive habits, at least. (and soon enough it will be qylaar season again -- a later start than usual since we aren't doing renegade this year, for the first time ever. normally i would be in frantic production mode right now, so maybe that's why i'm all 'must sew!' lately?)
i am seriously considering organizing a fabric swap so that i can get more fabric for this project without actually buying fabric. i used to do these theme-based fat quarter swaps (for the non-quilters, that's a half yard cut in half so that you get 4 squarish pieces, instead of cutting a quarter yard off the bolt which results in a skinny piece) so i think i can handle it organizationally, but i'm not as well connected with the online quilty people as i used to be. perhaps i can get enough people from the doll dressmakers i know. at any rate, i'll be posting something more thought-out on that topic soon, i hope.
