i am SO BAD at making decisions
i've narrowed halloween down to two options. both are basically a short lolita dress with an underbust corset. i was thinking of doing a harlequin thing (i have black and white diamond print fabric, if i am going to buy a corset i should get a useful color like black, i have plenty of accessories that would go with it so the corset would be the only thing i would have to buy) but it's a clown really. and i don't like clowns. and with the glasses i can't have the cute little domino mask (and there's no way i'm doing anything even slightly clownish on my face, make-up-wise.) and maybe my roly-poly self is not flattered by so much pattern.
the other option is a fairy. which is not the most original idea in the world, but really i just want to look pretty and maybe kinda sparkly, and every time i look at the current egl banner it makes me want to basically dress up like that. i could put a ton of flowers in my hair (which could be my real hair all frizzed out, or a wig since i have a few) and i could still use some fabric and accessories i already have, but i'd have to buy more fabric, and i'd be getting a non-black corset (they have a burgundy velvet one on timeless trends that has been tempting me) which is not very practical. so i'd have to spend a little more money (fabric, wings, possibly a petticoat? since it's not black and white, i don't necessarily have matching accessories). also i'd want a crown -- i suppose it's less trite if i'm titania and not just a random fairy XD i feel like the chance of looking stupid is lessened. even though fairies don't wear glasses, oops.
harlequin is cheap and simple. fairy is more interesting, but also a bit expensive and i'm trying really hard to be better about my budget. (err..., speaking of that, just ignore the fact that in both options i'm buying a corset) opinions plz?
