India Basin
Here are pics and a couple of short videos from Sunday's visit to India Basin Open Space, which is slated for development. Groundbreaking is scheduled to begin this month, so we are making it a priority to keep visiting this place when we are in San Francisco as long as it's still an undeveloped open space to enjoy in undisturbed solitude.

Before too long this will be under construction for mixed-use housing/retail.
Hawksbeard.
Evidence of an impromptu fireworks show.
Big ships riding at anchor in the Bay, waiting for their turn in the Port of Oakland: Vehicle carrier Glovis Sigma; Ocean Network Express container ship; and oil tanker Emarat Dubai Brilliance.
The Bay Trail will still be here, unaffected by the upcoming construction.
Looking north toward downtown San Francisco.
Fishing boat Sole-Man.
Tiny boat, big ship.
Wild radish.
Alkali heath is commonly found around the edges of San Francisco Bay, growing in salt marshes and alkali flats.
A sedum of some sort (I think).
A buckeye blossom, with nascent buckeye pods developing.
A ubiquitous western fence lizard.
Another look at the Bay before heading home.
A peek into a tidepool (no audio). The little critters bopping around are water boatmen.
