Baylands Low Tide
Here are pics from Sunday's visit to the
Baylands. It's super-low tide now, and the mudflats are exposed.
A cumulus cloud hovers over the Diablo Range.
At the sailing station, Mayfield Slough is more mudflat than water.
A couple of mud-encrusted Ganesh statues are perched at the corner of the sailing station dock.
A clump of saltgrass in the mud.
Looking across vast acres of exposed mudflats toward the Santa Cruz Mountains.
That cumulus cloud has grown quite big during the intervening 40 minutes. (See time-lapse video of it convecting
here). There are other, wispy clouds in the sky too.
