Edgewood Preserve
Here are some pics from Sunday's visit to
Edgewood Preserve, renowned for its springtime wildflower displays.
Looking along the Sunset Trail.
Tidy tips and blue dicks (yes, that's the real name of that flower).
The grasslands are carpets of bright flowers.
Owl's clover among tidy tips, and cream cups.
View of the hills and sky.
Blue-eyed grass (not a true grass), and goldfields.
Yarrow, and pale flax.
A western fence lizard basks on a fence rail.
A pair of mule deer graze in the meadow.
It is easy to see how they came to be called mule deer.
California poppies.
A western bluebird swoops over the grasslands hunting for insects.
