India Basin Open Space

Here are some pics from another visit to India Basin Open Space last Friday.

Looking across India Basin toward downtown San Francisco.

A yellow fleur, and another yellow fleur with a little crab spider perched in it.

Looking across some tide pools toward San Francisco Bay.

Coast rockcress is related to mustard and broccoli.

Raccoon tracks in the soft sand at the water's edge.

Barnacles on a chunk of brick among the rocks.

Out in the bay, oil tanker Maran Orpheus rides at anchor.

Two tugboats turn MV Cape Hudson around so it can sail out of San Francisco Bay.

One of the many lizards basking on the trail.

Lizard No. 2 has regrown its tail.

Lizard the third.

Buckeye pods beginning to form.

A daisy-like fleur.

The blackberries are in various stages of growth, from blossom to ripe fruit.

These developing seed heads are a foreshadowing of autumn.

A strange statue in the neighborhood -- headless giraffe?  Quite the worse for wear, whatever it is/was.

Here's a 21-second time-lapse movie of the marine layer racing in overhead.
