Thornewood Preserve

Here are some pics from a visit to Thornewood Open Space Preserve on Monday.

The trail goes through a mostly wooded habitat.

Many thistles have gone to floof already.

Indian paintbrush.

White globe lily.

Un-floofed thistle.

The view to the east from one of the rare places on the trail not obscured by trees.

Buckeye leaves reach for a patch of sun filtering through the forest.

Golden brodiaea.

Coast live oak leaf on the rail of a bridge over a gulch.

The canopy of redwoods and Douglas fir near Schilling Lake.
