Coal Creek Open Space Preserve

Here are some pics from a visit to Coal Creek Open Space Preserve on Monday.

We start out on a trail called Crazy Pete's Road.  (There really was a Crazy Pete back in the day, and he really was crazy.)

A lupine blue butterfly rests for a moment.

Forget-me-nots; starflower; yarrow.

A checkerspot butterfly visits some yarrow.

Fernald's iris.

Plantago plantain, as opposed to Musa plantain.

A clump of mystery fur on the trail.

Some flowers have gone to floof already.

Thimbleberry blossom.

A colorful madrone leaf.
