Babelfishing Poetry: "Yes, Yes, The New President"
Hello, how are you? How was your week? We've had a heatwave here lately, temperatures in the 90s F (at least it's a dry heat). But it's never too hot for more Babelfishing poetry, where I take song lyrics, run them through an on-line translator such as (but not necessarily) Babelfish, poke and prod the punctuation a bit, and wind up with a quirky kind of poem.
Written by famed tunesmiths Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil and made famous in 1963 by Eydie Gormé, this week's song is "
Blame It On The Bossa Nova" (listen to Gormé sing the song
here). Enjoy.
Yes, Yes, The New President
I dance when I look up.
It looks so sad and embarrassing.
I'm going to jump.
Now I am just a Klingon.
Stay in your Nova pocket to get your magic.
The Nova chief has been criticized for doing a good job.
Oh, it all started with a little dance.
But my reply is in my eyes.
You blame the mysterious new head.
I have my children.
Now, signior cousin?
No, not a new president.
Or the star of the greatest myths?
No, but indeed.
Is it music now?
Yes, yes, the new president.
I am a child.
