Babelfishing Poetry: "I Am The Heaven In The Sky"
I hope you've all been fine and well? No upsets? No disasters? Civil uprisings? No derechos, meteor strikes, tornadoes, floods, unexpected sinkholes, avalanches, mudslides, blizzards, hailstorms, lightning strikes, hurricanes, earthquakes, wildfires, tsunamis, volcanoes, sandstorms, alien abductions, toxic spills, transit strikes, computer crashes, polar vorticies, landslides, gaping potholes, pandemics, solar flares? I hope not, I really do. Because that would be frightful, it really would. So, anyway, get ready for more Babelfishing poetry, where I take song lyrics, run them through an on-line translator such as (but not necessarily) Babelfish, goof around with the punctuation a bit, and wind up with a quirky kind of poem.
To commemorate Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts' death this week, here's "
Can't You Hear Me Knocking" (listen to song
here; RIP, Charlie). Enjoy.
I Am The Heaven In The Sky
Some kind of murderer!
One man will soon enter.
We are here with them.
For years it's time to do more.
Do you think you'll be ignored by me?
When do you know you get better?
Will you not eat me?
They do not ask, and there are no terms.
Are you listening to me?
Is it a syllabary?
But did you use this idea?
Arriving at the end of the performance?
Joy for me!
I will die at home.
Hamlet,
my kneeling prayer.
But let me play.
I am the heaven in the sky.
I will follow you.
Go through.
My present flat feet; present, present, present.
In this village, in a honey-like manner,
I love you for your heart.
