Babelfishing Poetry: "Well, That's A Bug"
Hello! You well? I hope so; well and happy. I am weathering our local heat wave rather well, all things considered, with a pitcher of ice water in the fridge that gets refilled often, and a cool damp cloth on the back of my neck. A cool-down is expected after the weekend, so in the meantime let's enjoy some more Babelfishing poetry, where I take song lyrics, run them through an on-line translator such as (but not necessarily) Babelfish, tinker with the punctuation a bit, and wind up with a quirky kind of poem.
This week's feature is San Francisco new-wave group Translator's 1982 hit "
Everywhere That I'm Not" (watch video
here). Enjoy.
Well, That's A Bug
Are you the road?
But you can
remember that.
I've heard a few of the many
bars.
But no, it is not
a great thing to eat.
Looking to impress
my car, my clutch,
I don't remember a lot of what you're doing.
Well, that's a bug.
This is a man, and man put asunder.
This is a non-changing.
Non-function, it is impossible.
No New York, but I don't
in Tokyo, but not yet.
But the province of Nova Scotia, though.
Yes, I know, let me see, everywhere.
