Bear Creek Redwoods
On Sunday D. and I visited the newly-opened
Bear Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve. There wasn't a whole lot there to photograph, especially from the point of view of sitting in a wheelchair (and the gravelly trail surface made for a rather unpleasant ride), but, anyway, here are the few pics I took.
A withered fern clutches a few spider webs in its curled fronds.
Bigleaf maple leaves reach toward a patch of sun slanting through the deep forest shade.
The canopy overhead.
Along the Alma Trail we see a few old growth redwoods, with trunk diameters in excess of 10 feet.
A clump of mayweed in a sunny meadow.
