I am very tired of our extended spell of cold wet weather. On the weekends D. and I haven't been able to go out on our usual nature trails in the local preserves. We have trouble finding new and interesting indoor activities. We feel like we go to the same indoor places over and over (and to an extent, that's exactly what happens).
So on this showery Sunday, D. and I reluctantly returned to the Cantor Arts Center at Stanford to see the Josiah McElheny: Island Universe exhibit, because that was better than hanging around the house all day. Here are some of the pics I took.

A close-up of a chandelier reflects the people in the gallery: the macrocosm in the microcosm.
Elsewhere in the museum is this light sculpture by New York artist Spencer Finch, titled Betelgeuse. It is comprised of fluorescent tubes wrapped in colored filters designed to emit the same hue and luminosity as the star of the same name in the constellation Orion. It's like an intersection of science, art and technology.
