What I Saw Today
This evening D. and I returned to Grant Lake in nearby Grant Park at sunset, and I saw a group of 10 wild boars drinking at the far shore of the lake.
I saw a kingfisher hovering over the lake in search of fish.
We both saw a deer, a young buck with antlers, browsing on the hillside grasses and oak leaves at dusk.
And just before we left, with the last traces of color in the western sky, I saw a meteor go streaking overhead, brilliant white flaring into a rainbow of colors before disappearing into nothing.
