Babelfishing Poetry: "I Know Torpedo Dag Can Be Denied"
Hello my bloggy friends! I had a very stressful adventure this week. It included chest pains, a visit to the house from what seemed like 187 paramedics (a 911 call for chest pains brings all the EMTs to the yard, apparently), a 17-hour stay in the ER, lots of blood draws and EKGs, a chest X-ray and a coronary CT scan.
Eventually all the good people at the hospital who were helping me were able to rule out heart attack, pulmonary blood clot and pneumonia, and decided I had pericarditis, an inflammation of the membrane surrounding the heart. They sent me home and said to take 2 aspirin and call my doc in the morning (or, more specifically, take 600 mg ibuprofen 3 times a day for pain, and call my primary care doctor the next day to be seen within a week).
I am feeling so much better now, with only a little bit of lingering pain (which is tolerable as long as I don't lean all the way forward, take a full breath, or laugh). They're not sure what caused it; perhaps a virus, perhaps not. This will probably not cause any severe problems for me -- as long as it doesn't worsen (which remains to be seen
)
But would I allow all this to prevent me from bringing you more Babelfishing poetry, where I take song lyrics, run them through an on-line translator such as (but not necessarily) Babelfish, poke and prod the punctuation a bit, and wind up with a quirky kind of poem? Certainly not, because here it is!
This week's song, from indie rock band My Morning Jacket, is "
Believe (Nobody Knows)" (listen to song
here). Enjoy.
I Know Torpedo Dag Can Be Denied
This is the time.
Denmark, at the edge of the flood response.
Iron. Raw materials.
The bottom line is open.
This is wrong; they
forget.
I wake up in the present,
only tobacco.
Blind.
And he began to teach
in the ancient world
for everyone.
And, oh God, forgive me.
It is today.
I have in my mind and eyes.
It is time to go,
thrust out of commercial industrial decision.
In my opinion we must believe and believe, I believe.
I know torpedo Dag can be denied.
In addition, we approach native-born Westerners' traditional credit, credit, phase, I phase.
Dag, I knew the torpedo can refuse.
In my opinion we must believe, and believe it.
We strongly recommend first way so Dag temple.
Our nurses came in our mandatory shin-phase.
We know the way of fish lightning, Dag optional, whether or not verified.
