Orchard Heritage Park
On Sunday D. and I visited
Orchard Heritage Park, and here are some of the pics I took.
The apricot orchard.
An old dray in the foreground, and old cultivators behind it, at the edge of the orchard.
A 13-shank tractor-drawn orchard cultivator, or, as I like to call it, the curly-cue machine.
Dead California asters.
A rusty harrow lies idle in the late afternoon sun.
A yellow mum in the garden next to the Sunnyvale Heritage Park Museum.
A circle of bricks outside the museum is a gathering place for fallen leaves.
A wall of tiles decorated with kiddie art is on one side of the garden. Here we see the Battie Scarred Monster tile.
Next, the Vacant-Eyed, Red-Faced Smiling Stick Man Tile.
Then there's, um, "GWERP."
Begonias are awash with afternoon sun.
Brilliant dahlias dance in the breeze.
A fiery skipper sips nectar from a lantana.
Skippers are adorable little butterflies.
A western fence lizard basks on a tree stump.
Happy Fall.
