Babelfishing Poetry: "We Need To See Your Face, Hero 1"
Hello! And how are you today? Bright and breezy? Cheeky and cheerful? Chipper? Top-notch? Super-duper? Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed? Full of sunshine? Rarin' to go? Full of ginger? Ready to face the day? Hunky-dory? In the swim? Peachy-keen? On the ball? Up to snuff? All of those put together? None of the above? It doesn't matter, though, because, regardless, it's time for some more Babelfishing poetry, where I take song lyrics, run them through an on-line translator such as (but not necessarily) Babelfish, have some fun with the punctuation a bit, and wind up with a quirky kind of poem.
This week's song, by synthpop group Animotion, is their 1984 hit "
Obsession" (watch video
here). Enjoy.
We Need To See Your Face, Hero 1
"If you are serious, he cannot sleep. Legs are not so good. La la la. However, they cannot accept defeat."
"I'm with you. I'm with you if you do not go to the store. Butterflies. Butterfly nature. See you!"
"You have a serious case. You, personally. What can you do, sleep?"
"If you want to eat, drink. Today, brothers and evening. If you have questions, we will not understand it, and must look for candles. Good afternoon! If you want to send . . . wait. Oh, you cannot."
"We need to see your face, Hero 1. I cannot see the danger. Groups are welcome. Naked dreams, probably."
"It's pretty good, and fading. It starts between good and evil. Hsimosbsokold Dkvenshmh mine. I do not know, I do not know."
