Sanborn County Park

On Saturday D. and I took a short walk along part of the Skyline Trail in Sanborn County Park, and even though the woods were kind of boring I took a few pics anyway (it really wasn't my favorite kind of place for a walk but we had to change our plans at the last minute and couldn't think of another place to go).

Sanborn has a lot of rock formations that are popular with climbers.

Some climbers are more respectful of the environment than others, as the graffiti in this cave in Indian Rock attest (really, only a jerk would deface nature in this manner).

A couple of the many dead Douglas firs in the park, perhaps victims of California's extended drought.

A clump of poison oak leaves catches a ray of sunlight in the forest.

The canopy overhead.

A metallic blue wasp rests for a moment on a mossy tree trunk.

The Skyline Trail.

Fallen leaves are a hint of the coming autumn.
