Bear Creek Redwoods

Bear Creek Redwoods

On Saturday D. and I went to Bear Creek Redwoods, and here's some of the pics I took.

The pond near the parking lot.

Milkmaids are in bloom in the woodsy areas all over the preserve.

The trail goes through dense woods.

We see a turkey vulture sunning its wings on a dead branch.

Trees are coming into leaf.

As the trail rises we can see views of neighboring mountains.

Bermuda buttercup.

A bee in a broom blossom.

Broom is an invasive non-native, and it has completely taken over an abandoned vineyard in this section of the preserve.

Another view before we turn around and head home.
