Babelfishing Poetry: "Do Not Cascade"
Hello! And how are you today?! Bright and breezy? Cheeky and cheerful? Chipper? Top notch? All of those put together? None of the above? Either way is fine, because it's Friday and that means it's time for more Babelfishing poetry, where I take song lyrics, run them through an on-line translator such as (but not necessarily) Babelfish, tart up the punctuation a bit, and wind up with a quirky kind of poem.
This week I wrench myself from the 16th Century to the 20th for TLC's 1995 hit "
Waterfalls" (watch video
here). Enjoy.
Do Not Cascade
She just cannot toss out the window,
staring at her son
as his mother looked lonely.
If at any time
he fell into confusion,
she'll be there for her,
but he does not realize
she was so sick.
But cannot seem
to keep himself in trouble
when he's just all.
Hope is not a place
for everything,
so he goes.
He is his money.
He is.
Another body
is the best way to know
how to lay down a groove
and cold.
Listen.
Do not cascade after.
Please adhere to the lake
or river you are using.
I'll do anything you know
or eliminate altogether,
but I think it moves too fast.
In the hope
of dreams coming true,
hope is eager.
Believe in yourself,
after you and me.
