Camp had its highlights and it had its low points. We went abseiling off a waterfall and that was easily the highlight for me. The low point was overnight. I have blisters on the soles of my feet because of it. I had my left ankle strapped because of overnight as the blisters were too sore to walk on and if they were strapped it didn't hurt as much.
The worst thing to happen to me at camp was the bruises. We went upstream gorging on the first day and I got a few bruises then. Next day was our overnight. Our instructor told us that our walk up the river would be an hour. Over three our later we finally found the cliff to climb up. I got most of my bruises then I think. I had a panic attack on overnight and never want to go hiking ever again. I may or may not have gotten some bruises caving.
My legs are the stuff of legends. I have a bruise the size of a dinner plate on my thigh and it makes teachers cringe in pain. It was funny because just when I thought my legs couldn't get any more bruised they did. When we went abseiling we had to climb back up to where we abseiled from. We were in an area that was good for day hikers so there were a lot of people around. I was on a total adrenaline rush from the abseiling and was slightly bounding up some stairs. I fell up the stairs and made my right knee even worse. There were these two blonde Americans walking down the stairs and they gave me a look that said "what a total loser". I would post the pictures of my legs but I can't find the cord for my digital camera. The hunt continues though.
It's good to be home though with my music and my internet and my books and just YAY in general for home!!! Good news is my mom won't make me wear my school shoes tomorrow and instead said I can wear my flip-flops as they're the most comfortable shoes I own with my blisters currently. She's going to write me a note. YAY!!!
