1. Grab your base, crop, sharpen, etc. I started with a Vampire Knight screencap from
ohsnape, then cropped and sharpened.
2. Go to Hue/Saturation. Increase RED to 100%. Desaturate everything else (desaturize any red areas you don't want to emphasize using the lasso tool).
3. Duplicate your base, set to Soft Light at 100%.
4. Create a new layer. Fill with a red-to-black gradient, set to Overlay at 100%.
5. Using a scratchy brush, draw a thick red line (I used #5d050d) where you intend to place your text (if you want any). Set to Multiply at 100%.
6. Add your text. I used a text brush by
purebloodicons.
7. Duplicate your gradient layer and drag to the top. Set on Overlay at 38%.
8. Set this brush by
toybirds on Screen at 100%.
