I told myself that I would only include things I was done with, but really, there’s only one answer for this one…and it’s pretty spoilery for Song of Ice and Fire (halfway through the third book anyway), so behind a cut it goes.
Danaerys Targaryen. To quote Mark: HOLY CHARACTER ARC. She begins as this terrified girl barely into puberty who is property to those around her, including her sadistic and crazy brother. She is sold into a marriage and strangely, begins to blossom. She grows to love her husband, she earns the respect of his subjects, she stands up to her brother, an act that ends in his death when he can’t adjust to the new dynamic. She makes mistakes, BIG ONES, but she moves past them. She is still a teenage, yet she is mother to dragons, and I kinda want to see her on the Iron Throne. Last chapter about her, she tricked slavers into selling her an army, then burned their city to the ground and freed all the slaves. You go girl.
