Spiritual Interpretations AKA, things that I have found the spiritual in this week...

While standing in the moonlight, I spied a single strand of spider web
illuminated and draped between two branches.
Then in day light, I saw the sun light captured for a fraction of a second
in water ripples.
Looking into my son's eyes, I caught a glimpse of the clouds moving overhead
in the clear blue sky.
Walking next to a busy road, I chanced to meet a colony of ants racing amid
the cracks in the sidewalk, oblivious to all but their tasks.

Then, at another moment in time that I will never see again in quite the
same way, I watched the slow movements of a slug as he crossed a textured
path leading to a church.
Then childish laughter found my waiting ears to sooth my soul and to heal
the space of time around each vibration.
The sound of fingertips, touching…. each line caressing another, swirls
and flesh blended and energized.
The flash of fur as a squirrel leaped between branches to tousle with a play
mate, and then the two of them dancing round and round a tree trunk.

The smell of flowers, and fresh earth in the morning.
The sound of rain drops bouncing on roof tops.
A crescent shaped moon sharing its borrowed light with the clouds and sky.
Bird song and the flap of wings and the flitting of a small butterfly near
my face.
Cool breeze through open windows and then, later, caressing the skin in the
open air of nature.

Moments captured in my heart and imprinted on that part of myself that
touches God.
Moments of bliss that are steeped in spiritual energy and made bigger by
their simplicity.
Moments that found me dazed, with wide eyes and open heart...reaching and
connecting.
Moments lost on all but myself...as others moved hastily through their lives
never knowing what I have known, and none the wiser for it.
Moments I may have missed, myself, had I not been actively seeking them.
