Happy Holidays!
I finished holiday shopping for family pretty early for the most part. The kids' gifts have been done for about 2 weeks. Patrick's is missing one small thing, and I have one extended family thing still to buy. I like holiday shopping, but I hate crowds, so most things I bought online this year. And I'm very happy with what I selected.
But today! I mailed 7 boxes, mostly of excess inventory from the now defunct toy web site (I can resell stuff in quantity to another shop, but not little things I have just 2 or 3 of, generally), and a few items of stuff we have sitting around the house that the kids have outgrown. To families I have never met, and will probably never meet. But I know them through a parenting board that I adore, and I know they needed toys for their kids and the ages and genders of the kids. It's made my day much better to know that 7 other families will be celebrating on Sunday for the Winter Solstice or next Thursday for Christmas, just like we will. :)
