Kids these days, with their blogging, and their rock'em sock'em robots, and their tennis shoes....
I've made several attempts at blogging in the past, but they've all failed: partially because I wasn't motivated enough to write, partially because I was too afraid of saying something that could offend people who were--at the time--coworkers (thinking specifically about my years in academia here), and partially because I'm simply not used to using a journal of any kind to record general thoughts.
I've decided to give this another go, however, for two reasons: to join the forming Gaia Community magic education group (gaia_magic_ed ), and to chronicle my thoughts on mathematics (since I'm no longer a professional mathematician, I have the feeling--probably fueled somewhat by vainglorious arrogance--that the beautiful concepts I tried to teach will be lost to me forever if I don't keep them written down).
