Since I'm on this poetry kick I thought I'd share this one too.
"I am a tender blade of green energy stuck under the rock of society.
My roots are what connect me deeply to the stuff of cricket-songs and starlight,
Yet, I am oppressed, depressed, repressed and simply pressed down, down to the soil's cool moistness.
There is so much inside me that waits to bloom in the light, but I am torn between two forces that magnetically pull me, and then there is this damned rock holding me down.
I taste clarity, and I can hear through the hum of this dying world, like a cloud that blankets the sun's warmth, there IS more!
I know there's life out there, but it aludes me in riddle. Maybe I must awaken it from within... I DON'T KNOW."
