Ancestors

Since yesterday was Memorial Day in the US:

Do you honor your ancestors in your tradition or practice? If so, how do you honor your ancestors? Are there any ancestors, excepting parents, who are especially important to you?

Sorta. I don't know who my ancient ancestors or at least what my ancestral heritage really is outside of a generic Teutonic guess; but I do honor my great grandmother and great grandfather, the ones I've had the fortune to live with when I was growing up. They both died a few years ago, so their presence is still around a bit.

For my great grandmother, I have her delicate crochet pieces on my main alter in her honor, and for my great grandfather, I promised to do my best in college to thank him for the money I received in his will (which is going towards college expenses). I didn't get the chance to get any physical tokens of him, so that's all I really can do.

Answer here.

I should add that in day-to-day life, I strive to honor my ancestors by just generally being awesome. ;) I don't take shortcuts and I try to do things "the right way" as much as possible, as I know those were things they valued while they were alive.
