sync-to-lj?
HEY I can't sleep again. So I get to update here.
I decided I wasn't being paid enough in work (they'd already pointed this out in last year's pay review, which was silly of them). So I started looking elsewhere, and can make a substantial increase. Suddenly, my current employer began talking about 'flexibility' when I handed in a holiday request for one day, and put as the reason 'job interview'. So we'll see where things go with that.
I've had a few job interviews, some I liked the sound of the place and some I didn't so much. One that I really liked, decided to go for someone internally (which saved them over 15% annual salary plus the recruitment agency fee on top, so I can't blame them) but I was really close to getting it.
I've been updating my blog well. Not sure much of it will be of interest here... but here goes
I've been working hard on my wargame tools stuff, nearly ready for public test of the first half of the program (or at least the prototype of it). In retrospect, the second half should be much less prototype and much closer to the real thing. I think I'll save a lot of time that way, and with what I've learned along the way, it won't be too hard.
It's been a bit exciting realising that I've reached that point, I even put together a proto-website for it (illness is great for making HTML) and some Facebook pages. Not published yet, so don't go looking. If anyone knows any wargamers (Warhammer sort of thing, but very interested in finding non-Warhammer/40K players), please ask them to get in touch through wargametools@pagan-gerbil.net if they'd like to take part in testing of an army-builder type program.
Other than that, just a quick shout that hey, I am alive, Freddy is nearly walking, I just don't get the time to update the world about my days anymore. I whinge about my boss a bit, but I love my job (though the pay could be better, see jobhunting above). Maybe I'll aim to update here monthly? I don't know. You might have to be content with me just reposting links to the blog here :P but you guys will get more of the whining and bitching, that I can't really spread around more publicly. Sound cool?
