Dwarf Stars (poetry)

Oct 12, 2008 15:18

Dwarf Stars is published annually by the Science Fiction Poetry Association in order to recognize quality short poetry on sf/fantasy/horror/science/technological/surreal themes.  The membership votes on their favorite from the anthology and the Dwarf Stars Award winning poem is sent to the Nebula Showcase anthology editor for possible inclusion.  This is not a guarantee, because it depends on the Nebula Showcase editor, which changes each year, but our first two Dwarf Stars winners were included.   Ruth Berman’s poem, ““Knowledge Of””, the 2006 Award winner, was included in the 2008 Nebula Showcase Anthology and Jane Yolen’s poem, “Lost Unicorn “, the 2007 Award winner, will be included in the 2009 Nebula Showcase Anthology.

This is the third year for the award.  Copies of the Dwarf Stars anthology are archived at the Eaton Collection at the University of California, Riverside and at the University of Buffalo, New York.
