First off, Penny is alright. She's sore, and has a few bumps and bruises, and is of course still shaken up, but it otherwise okay. CT scans and x-rays showed no broken bones or internal injuries. I'm so glad to hear she was ok and taken care of. I am also so glad you reached out to your new colleague. People really do want to help, but often don't know a concrete way to do it. Sounds like they jumped into action and really took care of her.

I totally believe in miracles. Thank God everything turned out all right. I know it's hard for you to be so away from her, as you do take really good care of her, but she's ok and she knows she's loved, so she has a lot of support.

I'll talk to you later.

So glad to hear Penny is okay. :) That is one of the things that has attracted me to the Midwest/South so much. Thank GOD you weren't in California. No teams assembled there, believe me! My fiend and I got in an accident on our way to school - ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY and was even PASSED BY FELLOW CLASSMATES and not one person stopped to see if we were okay. As if our car through a fence sitting in the middle of a cow field was somehow "normal". No, these folks drove on and waved, some even honked and flipped us off because we were partially in the street sticking out and we sat there for over an hour until an off-duty fireman was driving on his way home and saw us and called 911.

When I first moved to Kansas the girls and I were walking in the snow (and remember, I had never even seen snow before!) trying to find Kellie's new school (Eric had our only car) and this lady stopped and offered us a ride. I declined because I was raised with the belief if someone was stopping to help you, they were out to get you. :( I've had a hard time ( ... )
