In Character Information

character name: Born Claire Stanfield, name changed to Felix Walken. Aka the assassin Vino. Aka the urban legend "rail tracer".
Fandom: Baccano!
Timeline:
character's age: No canon age. ~20.

powers, skills, pets and equipment:
WHERE DO I EVEN START.

All right, let's preface this: Claire is an ordinary, mortal human. However he is his canon's godmode. The following abilities are canon, but I would like to supplement all of these with Mist to make him more than human, so that he can maintain his godmodey status against people from more powerful canons i.e. Claymore, Bleach, etc. This is more to do with his personality/playability: Claire's worldview is based around his belief in his invulnerability, and if he was crushed like a bug it would make him really difficult to play. That's not to say I plan to attack characters without communication/permission, or that I want to escape IC consequences for Claire's actions, but I think the Mist merely serves as a rational explanation for a skillset that is already irrationally and wholly inexplicably inhuman.

"natural" physical abilities
Claire is referred to as the strongest man alive. He is able to lift a fully-grown great white shark (that's ~4000lbs) over his head with ease. He also has fantastic muscular control thanks to his days in the circus, and as a former acrobat he is extremely agile and flexible, and he moves with a darting blur of speed. For example, he is able to balance on blades, fling himself into high backflips on a moving train and land in the same spot he left, he evades a spray of machine-gun fire at point-blank range, he can climb around on the outside of a moving train and hold himself in the corner of a room near the ceiling, often while covered in blood. His hearing and reaction times are also incredible, such as the time he shot a man dead in the room below the moment he heard him draw his weapon.

learned combat skills
Obviously the above abilities give him a natural advantage in hand-to-hand combat, but Claire has also been very well-trained. He can disarm a man at point-blank range with a kick. He uses guns, including shooting the ear off a man in the middle of a fist-fight while on a moving train. He also is known for using improvisational weapons. (Some of the supplementary light novel canon includes a duel between a woman dual-wielding katanas and Claire... dual-wielding two pairs of scissors.) Claire claims to know every method of torture there is.

His nickname as an assassin, "Vino", was given to him because of the way he killed his targets, leaving them caked in a layer of blood, looking like they'd been soaked in wine.

career skills
Claire was raised by the mafia, and can play poker and down gin with the best of them. He then ran away to the circus and became a famous trapeze artist. Following that he became an assassin, and took a job as an innocuous train conductor to enable him to travel easily from place to place for his marks. Given he kept this job for over a year, he obviously knows the basics of actually working as a conductor, helping with baggage, serving food and drink, checking tickets, etc.

Living in 1930s America, he also has normal abilities with the industrial revolution technology of that time and place.

other
In addition to all of this, Claire is fairly intelligent when it comes to drawing conclusions, and he is an especially excellent judge of character, able to read his opponent in a fight, make accurate guesses about people's motivations upon first meeting, guess people's fears and weaknesses, and he can extrapolate on these deductions to learn even more.

He's good with children.

He can talk a mile a minute.

He has the advantage of a hideous amount of luck / deus ex machina.

equipment
Claire is coming in with nothing but the clothes on his back, a service pistol with three bullets, and a weatherbeaten fruit knife.

personality:

why do you feel this character would be appropriate to the setting?
Because it would be fun, because I love this game, because Claire is all about the horror setting but with the cheerful cheesiness and ordinariness that also marks the day-in-the-life aspects of scorched.

The main reason I suddenly want to play Claire again after two years of him collecting dust is because I'd really like to try and run a player-run plot with him upon his entrance to a game: Claire thrives on killing as an urban legend, and therefore if he began a series of attacks before he actually introduced himself on the network it could provide a pretty solid alibi. Obviously he'd have to be around a while to know who to attack - mainly Natives and Scorched in important positions in Dismas, but also anyone who did something that really pissed him off. Then detective characters could potentially link him with the murders and consequences could happen and he could start off his stay in Anatole with a bit of reputation. I'd really like to talk through this with the mod team if I get in though! (It may need to be handwaved that he came in with the November influx and stayed below the radar for a month.)
