Well, we all feel foolish, are foolish, and even do foolish things once in awhile. But at least for once you're off the hook......
You know, I pondered back and forth admitting that I sent them. Because I didn't send them to you with any sort of personal ulterior motives. I don't want, don't need credit for them. They simply were beautiful, and since beautiful you gave the bulbs to me, it seemed right that you should have the first clippings. I was hoping that you would enjoy them. That it would bring a smile to a face that so recently hasn't seemed to be well aquainted with the ancient art of smiling...
As for the picture, err, I think that that particular individual would be rather embarrased to admit that he was the one that sketched it one day watching you walk in one of the gardens. That he was hoping you'd find it in you to continue a friendship he seemed to have botched... that same he who cares for you very, very much, but is content to be only a friend since that is what you seem to need right now, even though he

So then... Well. Thank you. You're kind of making me blush, Neville. I definitely did - do - enjoy them. They're sitting very prominently in our room, and everyone who sees them asks about them.
And this anonymous boy doesn't really have to ask me to find it in myself to be friends with him, because I care about him very much, and he hardly did anything to botch it. Perhaps it can be better thought of as a small bump in a long road.
I'll join you...if you don't mind. The dorm's getting rather stuffy. It might be a bit cool for a swim, though...I'll be more than happy to test the waters, though...
Is that rather annoying friend of yours going to be there? Mandy Brocklehurst? I suppose, if you're to be there, the company will be bearable. Would a one or two piece be appropriate?

Whichever you'd like - perhaps a one piece. You're very pasty, you know, so you don't want to burn.

I'm sincerely glad to hear of it. How are you doing, anyway?

I'm doing rather well. I've caught up on my sleep and successfully avoided physical contact all day. You left a rather nasty bruise on my shoulder.
How are you, love?

That sounds like a very Slytherin way of doing things.
I'm glad you've slept well, but I'm sorry about the bruise. Was it when I...?
I'm doing well, thank you for asking.
