Siberia

So the biggest thing I can say about visiting Siberia was that it was winter and cold. The site had nothing for us, we froze and came back to base camp every night as walking witch and wizard-icles. This was hardly how I pictured my first big assignment. Maybe it wouldn't have been so bad if it were not in the middle of their winter but that is a stretch. What people find so thrilling about a tundra- a barren wasteland- is completely beyond me. All I know is that it was the worst month of my life. If the climate and fruitless days of excavation were not bad enough I was obviously not the only person who noticed that they were not keen on having British people around. I don't think the Russians like us so much.

Needless to say being home could not be better. Even if I am cramped inside this tiny little flat with books and chalkboards stacked everywhere with artifacts that I was actually allowed to keep on the shelves. After being out in the open the confines of the rooms seem... cluttered. I need to clean but not now or within the week. This week is for making notes and figuring out a way to tell the goblins they sent us there for no reason and not getting fed to the dragons. That would not be good.
