My top favorite Acoustical albums

Aug 28, 2004 10:11

A few of you out there may have read that I have recently picked back up my Classical Acoustic and have started to play around with it again. I haven't been serious about it since my last days of highschool. The guitar has been sitting in storage and I recently took it out to pick it up again. I had the neck checked out and then I restrung it and tuned it to my liking. Anyway. I have been working on learning Roxanne by The Police. It is a little tougher that I imagined it would be but I am sure that a few years of rusty fingers are part of the problem too.

Anyway..on to the point of this post.

Over the next few weeks I am going to outline my favorite 150 or so top Acoustic albums of all time. They will come from many different genres of music and I don't expect everyone to have heard of them. If you are a fan of Acoustic music you might want to take a listen to some of these albums though. These are in NO particular order mind you. Oh, and I will try to refrain from VH1 Storytellers cd's and greatest hits.

1. Bob Dylan - Blood on the Tracks (1975)
2. Fish - Live Acoustic Sessions CD 1. (live at the Funny Farm) 1994
(Fish is Derek W. Dick, the ex lead singer for Marillion. This is not the PHISH band people)
3. The Beatles - The White Album (1968)
4. The Kentucky Colonels - Appalachian Swing (1993) (Bluegrass)
5. Uncle Tupelo - No Depression (1990) (Alt. Country)

Anyway. It is Saturday and my grandmother is in town so I need to run along and see her for a few hours.

I am going to make these posts public. Have a great Saturday.
