Open up your eager eyes....

Quite a bit's happened since I last posted, so this might be a long one.

First of all, the O.R. nurse educator called on Thursday afternoon and left a message on my machine. She said the next class is gonna start on May 1st. So I guess that's when I'll be starting in the O.R. So this last weekend, when I went back to work, I finally had a start date to tell them. Of course I hadn't really told anyone except my nurse manager and nurse educator, so alot of my co-workers were surprised I was leaving. And that's in just a couple weeks. According to the original schedule, I'd only be working this Wednesday and Thursday, and then I was gonna take paid leave next week. But we're gonna be short next week and alot of people are doing extras, so I told my charge nurse last night that I'll work a couple days next week and take one day paid leave. Which will make next Wednesday my last night of work on the unit. Although I have staff meeting the next morning, which my nurse educator said I still have to go to. Ah well. I'll go have breakfast with them and listen to my last staff meeting there EVER!! Hahaha!! Hee, I'm a little delirious with glee at that thought. =P

On Thursday evening (after the call from the O.R. educator), I went to Disneyland to meet up with Danette and Amity. Since I got there so late, and they had to leave early 'cuz Danette had to work the next morning, I didn't really get to do much with them. While they went on Space Mountain, I got some dinner. They finished quickly, having gotten fastpasses earlier in the day. So they sat and talked to me while I ate my salad from Pizza Port. Then we went shopping at the store at the exit of Star Tours. They left after that and I was left to wander Disneyland alone.

I went on It's A Small World just for the heck of it. When I got out, the fireworks show had already started. I'd never watched the fireworks show from the Small World area before. But you know how there are two sites where fireworks come from? I also found out that they project a film onto the Small World facade. So I was trying to watch fireworks above the Castle, fireworks above Toon Town, and the film on Small World. It was confusing!

I went over to the Rivers of America after that to watch Fantazmic. I actually sat at one of the benches in front of The Golden Horseshoe because there were so many people already there. It was still Spring Break for some people, apparently. So there were a ton of people there. And I think alot of them were from out of state, so they were trying to figure out how to get around Disneyland. It was amusing. After Fantazmic, I just walked around the different shops and the World of Disney store. They have some vintage-looking shirts at the World of Disney store. And some of them are hella expensive. Like $85 for a damn T-shirt! They were cute, but not enough for me to want to shell out that much cash. But I also saw a Pirates sweatshirt and hat that I want. Oh, and a Nightmare Before Christmas bag. So maybe next time I go.

I went and had coffee this morning with Danette and Melissa. I left the hospital a lil later 'cuz I wanted to talk to my nurse manager and educator. So I didn't pick Melissa up 'til about 8:30, and Danette after that. We went to Stell on Barton and Alabama. There were these two guys stringing up lights outside, and for some reason Melissa was just intrigued by it. She just kept watching them while we were sitting and talking. And I was preoccupied by this guy I saw outside. He was with an older lady and a baby in a stroller. And I thought I recognized him 'cuz he looked like one of our residents. Hence the reason I was preoccupied by him. I was trying to figure out if it was Dr. Moore or not. By the time they left, I concluded that it was him. He just looked kinda different 'cuz he had scruff and I'm used to seeing him clean-shaven. Danette decided he's definitely not available 'cuz of the baby. But I didn't see a ring on his finger, and I'm not sure who the older lady is, so I really don't know what to make of it. Oh well, whatevers. I'm sure I'll find that out sooner or later.

For some reason, all of my electronic equipment has been malfunctioning today. I noticed last week that my DVR with TiVo was only showing the schedule up to 4:00 pm today. I was hoping that maybe there were problems with the satellite and it would eventually fix itself. But I checked it when I got home this morning and it was still only showing stuff 'til this afternoon. So I called DirecTV and the lady said to restart my whole DVR. So after unplugging it, re-plugging it, and letting it gather info over the course of the day, I think it's finally back to working order.

When I woke up tonight (I guess I was tired. I slept from about 1:30 til 7:30.) I checked my cell phone and the screen was black. I didn't remember turning it off, but I tried turning it on again.....and it wouldn't. I took the battery off, put it back on, and it finally turned on again. Then I went outside and my dad said our landline phone wasn't working. See, I've just had bad luck with electronic stuff all day long. I'm cursed I tell ya.

*yawn* I'm still sleepy. And my neck's stiff. I really need a full body massage 'cuz my neck, back....ah hell everything's sore right now. I guess that's what I get for being the resource nurse on Friday night and Sunday night. I get to help everyone turn and lift their patients. Oh and last night, my charge nurse decided she wanted to leave early and made me charge nurse at four in the morning. I love knowing how to do everything on my floor. But I guess that's a sign that I need to move on, huh. So yeah, that's what I'm doing.

Anyway, I'm gonna go and probably fall back asleep again. Or I could watch Lost and The O.C. from last week. Hmm.....
