i met the most amzing man... my neighbor leo. he's my role model.

he grew up in germany, his family was killed, he escaped from a concentration camp [auchwitz is one that he went to], moved to holland, and married. family-in-laws were killed 2 weeks later by nazis in gas chambers. he joined jewish rebellion. his brother got him to safe house in [switzerland?] with a farmer.... he moved back to holland then had to move out of country because they didnt want foriegners (expecially jewish)and moved to brazil for 2 years. he moved back to holland when the war was over and owned a handbag factory. then he moved to the us. he knows 6 languages and bits and pieces of 3 more.

i want to write his story down...we invited him to desert at our house yesterday and he talked. he knew so many things. he's 87 now, but even still....he's one of the most intelligent people i have ever met. he was saying how he would never generalize a people....he said most germans of that time were bad, but he doesnt hate them today. the manner of his talk just made him so...special... unique... i dont know how to describe him...

there was much more to life that he explained, but i dont want to write something inaccurate or out of order. but those are some highlights...

i dont mean to be disrespectful, but i find leo's story to be more ...? than elie weisel's. it was just so interesting...
