this afternoon i walked to the post office to see why the mailman hasn't come for like a month. on the way there i passed a wall of wheatpasted posters for the interational day of getting closer, a lame but disturbingly effective attempt by Winterfresh Gum to sell their minty commodity by inventing a revolutionary day of action! can you co-opt us some more, please?
the post office was weird- all the workers were there but signs taped to the glass of the windows read "strike." the workers looked really, really bored. i talked to a lady for a while behind the counter for a while, asking when the strike would end, where it began. i couldn't get much farther than that with my beginner's polish. i guess going on strike isn't all that exciting.
