[Filtered to the Victoria II]New cook here. My name is Dee. You all probably know me by Deandra Reynolds, or my stage name, Freddie Diana. I'm pretty big in Ivonian theater, but I decided, as most big name actors tend to do, to take a break from acting. I thought a little charity work my look good on my resume, and, well, most fans go crazy for ( Read more... )

But can you cook? This is a ship of soldiers, madam, and we've little time for such theatrical trivialities.

Of course I can cook. What's more important is that I can mix drinks. My night job before boarding this ship was as a bartender. I know that soldiers like food, but more than that they like alcohol. At the very top of the list is women, and I happen to be one of those as well. Oh, and you should know that I look really good in a bar maid's dress.

I have the hardest parts already perfected. Cooking is simple in comparison.

Ah, so you are skilled as well as humble.

Quite a pity, then, that the Admiral rather frowns upon alcohol on his ship.

Wow, really? Goddammit, that sucks. But, I would hate to give our fine captain a bad impression, so I'll keep to the cooking and looking pretty.

There's gotta be sometime that he allows alcohol, right? Victories, birthday parties, holidays, weekends?

I think I may have seen you perform, Miss Dee! What shows have you been in?

I'm already being approached by fans. I can't say that I'm surprised.

Well, I'm a regular at a local comedy club called "Orange You Glad." I do a lot of street performing, especially spreading awareness about the evils of tobacco use. I'm probably best known for my role in "Mint's Youngest Daughter," which is slightly different from the adult novel with the same name.

I mostly do underground stuff, really. I don't want to sell out, you know?

Oh, yes, now I remember--I saw you at the club. I thought you were quite wonderful!

Really? Thanks! You know, I'm new to this ship, so I've been looking for new girlfriends to hang out with. Being around all these guys all the time can be quite draining for me. As a fan of mine, you are quite welcome to fill that position.

Facsinating. I've never heard of you. Under either name.

Apparently you don't get out much, because you would realize what a mistake you're making by talking like that. I'm a big deal.

Oh, I assure you, I get out more than you'd imagine. I simply have better things to pay attention to than some full-of-herself, pompous wannabe who happens to be on the stage.

The theatrical stage, at least.

I didn't imagine anything about you, I just made the logical conclusion that you must not know much about theater if you've never heard of me.

The theatrical stage is the only stage that matters. What could possibly be more important that keeping up with the social lives of famous actors?

Ahh, welcome aboard Miss Reynolds. I must say the Victoria II is an interesting choice for 'charity work', though.

Well, I was trying to get a gig saving a basket of kittens out of a burning warehouse, but that's easier said than done, you know? This job is a lot easier to photograph.

Well, if you ever need someone to take a picture of you when you are being suitably charitable, be sure to look me up. Lieutenant Ffamran Mid Bunansa, at your service.

Well I'm glad to meet someone on this ship who knows how to treat a lady. You should know that some of the members of your crew are mean-spirited and not very helpful.

Its a pleasure to meet your acquaintance, Miss Reynolds. I look forward to sampling your culinary skills.

Oh, yeah. Well, I'm going to be taking it easy for a while. Still getting used to the kitchen and everything, you know? When I do make something, I'll be sure to set the best portion aside especially for you, Mister...?

Gavin. Lt. Commander Kristoph Gavin. I serve as Quartermaster on this fine vessel.

Gavin! That's a better name than some of the people on this ship have. At least I can pronounce it.

So, you're one of the higher ups? Be sure to put a good word in for me with the captain. Oh, and let me know if he's a fan of my work. If not, at least let me know what kind of theater he prefers.
