Journeyman extraordinaire

I keep telling myself that I will never take the bus anywhere again, but I have to out of necessity. I just find it hard to take sometimes when there are way too many people and it feels like a cattle car, or when there's a bunch of idiotic, obnoxious (usually drunk) teens gabbing away about what they feel is important in their lives right now. I've conveniently forgotten what it was to be a teenager and not have any other cares than if my buddy talked to a girl that I liked and now I feel betrayed. Looking back it makes me laugh, but only because it had to do with me. Nowadays I could care less about what kids are on about, even though I was prolly on about the same things in my own days.
But I digress. Taking the bus does sometimes have its perks. For the most part we have it pretty good in a few places in Ottawa as far as public transport goes. Alli's dad's house is along the Parkway between Lincoln Fields & Dominion stations, so it's just one bus (95) to get there for me. It runs til 3 a.m. . I think that's pretty sweet. In any case, I happened to catch the second last bus home last night and being that there had been a Sens game (which we won. WOO fucken HOO!!) there were a few Sens fans aboard, who had obviously imbibed a few drinks while enjoying the game. So there talking amongst themselves and just happen to enter into a conversation with a fat, bearded, ban dana-wearing man. I wish I had had a tape recorder so I could post a sound bite with this entry, but alas, I'll just try to use my words. Usually I try to ignore my surroundings on the bus but seeing as I had had a few drinks watching the game myself, I was feeling pretty merry myself. So the fans start up with yerman, asking him if he was a Sens fan, if he had been watching the game, etc...
Ban dana's ONLY response to EVERY question was "Who me! I'm gonna be rich! I'm digging for buried treasure!" after which he would cackle uncontrollably. He should/could have been a cartoon character. He had the perfect voice and laugh for it: a shrill, higher-pitched, crackling voice. This went on for my whole trip, about 10 minutes. I actually considered staying on for an extra stop just so I could listen to more of it. I hadn't started laughing at first, but about 2 & 1/2 minutes into the trip it just got the better of me. I had to keep looking away so that he wouldn't see I was blatantly laughing at him. The girls sat opposite me were taking care of an until recently passed out friend who woke up up to all this excitement, I got them all laughing with me soon enough. MAN it was funny. So you see, Markus, taking the bus can be fun at times.
