lately...
Sorry i haven't been updating lately... i'm not sure who i'm apologizing to, no one's reading my journal, but still, maybe the people I know that I'd be willing to let know I keep this will go back and read the old ones and see i hadn't posted regularly this week and think they'd been gypped or that my discipline had broken down after just a few entries.
that is only part of the issue.
last weekend, i bought a new hard drive and installed it. myself. with the help of NO ONE. now, I am a pretty computer-savvy guy. I can generally assume that i know more than anyone in most offices about computers. but the hardware thing eludes me. i tend to be pretty good at using things, but not maintaining or repairing them. like with cars or even better, scooters- i am a really good driver, but i could not begin to fix a car, and the scooter i'm only passable. i just have no aptitude for remembering the differences b/w a '56 Corvette and a '58 or how various carburetors can improve performance. computers are similar. the intricacies of BIOS make no sense to me, and i was concerned i would fry everything and lose my computer until i could get someone who knows more than me to fix it. but i did it and i did it in five hours. that is, in five hours i had windows, sound, internet, and television. so anyway. the rest of the week i was just busy, though, come to think of it, i mostly watched bad television,
oh well.
this weekend i'm going up to seattle for the Second Annual Seattle Scooter Donut Run. I'm going to shove my beast in the back of my Blazer and drive up tomorrow morning, ride around all day eating donuts, drink all night, get up the next morning, go to the only Krispy Kreme in the northwest, buy 6 dozen for friends, hit IKEA and head home.
i'll be back then...
