Holy jumpin', it's been a long time since I posted...I just checked - May 9th. Well then, I guess that's a testament to how exciting my life has been. Don't get me wrong, there have been some fantastic goings-on during that gap, such as a visit from Marc, the return of Hannah, and summer..kind of...
Mostly though, my life for the last month and a half has consisted of dragging my ass to class every weekday morning, then coming home and either staring at the wall (somewhat figuratively) all day/night, or staring at the wall for a few hours before dragging my ass to work. However, I have changed the way in which I drag my ass. Unable to justify paying $63 for a June bus pass when school is not *that* far away, I'm not working *that* much, the weather is tolerable (most of the time), and I'm gone from the 22nd on, I now walk everywhere. I have been on the bus only once since June began, and that was because I literally did not have enough time to walk to work from school after class ended (thank you, Kristen). So the walk to school is 25 minutes and the walk to work about 45 (from home), and it's so wonderful to shun the bus. I don't need to have my departure time down to the minute and I don't have to aim for the bus two ahead of the one I should really be able to take, just to allow for it to be 20 or more minutes late (happens wayyyy too often). Summer should be more relaxed, and I'm definitely going to stick with this walking thing until the sidewalks disappear again. My Mom told me last night that walking (specifically; running apparently has the opposite effect because of the stress on the body) has been shown in studies to boost the immune system for up to three hours afterward.
Today I am waiting to hear from my school buddy, Heather, to do some studying for our Latin exam Wednesday morning. I could study hardcore and try to rock it hardcore, but I'm really just aiming to pass. I'm not too stressed about it, honestly.
Aaaaaaand...after the exam is over, preparation for going home commences!!! I will arrive in Halifax at 11:15 on Friday morning. I know I will be greeted by the smiling faces of Mom and Marc for sure...which will beat flying in late night Christmas Eve and being greeted by NO ONE. Really, still, thanks guys. Haha, oh well. Saturday is Annie's prom, and the following Thursday her graduation. I can't believe how grown up my baby sister is. This is seriously freaking the hell out of me...my Mom and Dad must be beside themselves!
I'm going to be in town for a full three weeks now. The plan was to save a few days at the end to drive back across Newfoundland with my Dad, but I was pondering yesterday that I'm pretty fucking sick of this province and it's not going anywhere, so we can save the road trip for a few years down the road. I have booked a plane ticket back for early morning on July 14th. I hope this trip is everything I think it will be.
